Cavitation Prevention in High-Pressure Drops

A technical paper detailing our multi-stage trim design engineered to eliminate cavitation damage.

Cavitation occurs when local pressure in the vena contracta falls below the vapour pressure of the liquid. The collapsing vapour bubbles erode trim surfaces, generate noise and vibration, and can destroy a valve within weeks.

Our multi-stage trim splits the total pressure drop across several restrictions so that the pressure never falls below the vapour pressure. Combined with hardened materials, it extends trim life many times over in boiler feedwater, recirculation and spray applications. Request the full paper from our engineering team.
